“In today's music industry, the artist not only has to focus on creative
but also an overall business which you have to lead with efficiency and optimism.

I'm a producer, songwriter, and boss of Kandle Music Inc.
and am excited to share my ten years of knowledge with you!”

ABOUT THE MENTOR

Kandle’s vivid soundscapes create a witchy world of swampy blues, shadowy pop, and ghostly rock.

In 2017, she signed to Toronto-based alternative label Sleepless Records and began recording her sophomore album, “Holy Smoke.” She teamed up with Sam Goldberg (Broken Social Scene), Devon Portielje (Half Moon Run), Graham Walsh (Holy Fuck), John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Kurt Vile, Phosphorescent) and Alex Bonenfant (July Talk, Crystal Castles) to bring the record to life. Her prevailing record debuted at #4 on Canada’s iTunes Alternative Charts.

This past summer she opened for Timber Timbre in the US and signed with Los Angeles based management company, Fourward.

Following this, she released two integral music videos that emphasize her artistry: “Bender” directed by Kat Webber and “Broken Boys” directed by Lauren Graham. She also appeared in Jack White’s “Corporation” music video from his latest album, “Boarding House Reach.”

Next, she will be featured at SXSW’s 2019 Showcase Series and releasing her commanding music video for “Nobody Wants You Now.”

The Snow Lake Initiative is proud to announce Kandle as the first Artist-to-Artist Mentor for 2019.
